Rathenau Institute

The Rathenau Institute supports the formation of public and political opinion on socially relevant aspects of science and technology. It does this by studying the organisation and evolution of science, technology and innovation and by nurturing public and political debate on pertinent issues.

The Rathenau Institute studies new technologies and their opportunities and risks. It also analyses facts and figures concerning the Dutch innovation and science system.

The Rathenau Institute supports the formation of public and political opinion by responding to requests for information from parliament, the government, policymakers, businesses, academic institutions, civil society organisations or the public, or by providing such information on its own initiative. It supplies data and information based on scientific analyses of societal and governance issues.
