The fashion duo Viktor&Rolf (both born in 1969) have been the foremost representatives of Dutch fashion abroad for more than twenty years. Their work is radical, sculptural, ironic and extravagant and makes a statement about fashion itself. Viktor&Rolf are also commercially successful; they have worked with KLM, Samsonite, Bugaboo and Shu Uemura and have produced a collection for H&M. They opened their first flagship store in December 2013 in the prestigious rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. Their perfume Flowerbomb is a huge success and they launched another perfume, Bonbon. Viktor&Rolf returned to haute couture last year. Dancers from the Dutch National Ballet modelled latex creations at their Paris show. Viktor&Rolf will be designing the costumes for the Dutch National Ballet’s next production; they have already designed costumes for an opera.
They have received a lengthy list of awards for their work, starting with the 1993 Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival award, the most important fashion talent contest in the world.
