To celebrate 400 years of close relations across the Atlantic (1609-2009) the Roosevelt Study Center is working together with the Netherlands American Studies Association, the Vrije Universiteit, the John Adams Institute, and Erfgoed Nederland to hold a two-day conference to explore this theme and generate discussion on the meaning of Dutch-American relations in both past and future.
>Central questions are: Has there been a recognisable continuity to Dutch-American relations, or have relations been instead marked by 'waves' of interest coming from one side or the other? How do the historical traditions of these contacts still play a role? Which themes will scholars of this relationship put on the agenda for future research?
A complete programme and registration form can be found on the Roosevelt Study Center website.
