Workshop 10: Veni Training Track

This Veni track requires a full 3-day commitment from participants. The first workshop in this track will take place on Tuesday, 30 October. It consists of a theoretical part and a part involving practical exercises, for example visualizing your project concept. The next day will be a ‘writing’ day, during which participants can prepare for the session on Thursday, for which participants are expected to have prepared a project pitch, supported by a maximum of 5 slides. The Academy will provide a special Veni ‘writing’ room at the Trippenhuis for this second day. The Academy grant officer will also be present that day, and you can ask them questions with regard to your proposal.

On the third day of the Veni track, each of the participants presents their project pitch, in which they describe their project idea, themselves and the connection between them. This helps participants to operationalize the Veni criteria and to search for their own answer according to those criteria in the application form.

After completing the Veni track, participants can:

  • visualize their project concept
  • position their project idea
  • introduce themselves in the proposal and link their CV to the project idea
  • have a structure and clear idea on how to fill in the rest of the Veni application form

Participants in this Veni track will have access to a digital learning environment, including a ‘guide for applicants’ written by the trainers. In addition, Veni participants are also welcome to take part in other Grant Week workshops on 31 October and on 1 November in the afternoon after the final Veni workshop.
