Terms and conditions for participating in activities financed from the Academy’s Employee Benefits Budget (Local Consultation funding)

  • The participant must be employed by the Academy; the employment contract may be for an unlimited term or for a fixed term.
  • Trainees: trainees who have concluded a traineeship agreement with the Academy may participate in the relevant activities.
  • At the end of the employment relationship / traineeship agreement with the Academy: if the activity takes place over multiple days, the first day of the activity must precede the final date of the employee’s appointment. In the event of a multiple-day activity, the employee may participate on any activity days remaining after the final date of the appointment.
  • Entitlement to benefit after employment at the Academy in a benefits situation in which the Academy bears the risk (the Unemployment Benefits Act, an ex-gratia payment in accordance with the Unemployment Regulation, or the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act): The employee may participate in activities throughout the entire benefits period (from job-to-job situation). The activity must begin before the benefit ends. In the event of a multiple-day activity, the employee may participate on any activity days remaining after the final date of the appointment.
  • Guest researchers who are not employed by the Academy but have been affiliated with the institute for a longer period of time, often on a full-time basis, who are members of a research group, and who are making a vital contribution to research based on a personal grant (Marie Curie, EMBO, etc.) qualify for an allowance if the grant does not budget for activities (e.g. EMBO Fellow). These guest researches may participate in the relevant Academy activities.

In case of no-show on the course day without notice of cancellation via , the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences will charge you for €75.
