Mindfulness Basics

Mindfulness is a form of attention training that focuses on recognising and breaking out of unconscious, involuntary thought patterns and responses.  It is a powerful technique that reenergises the mind and body. Mindfulness helps people engage with themselves and others in a new way.

This training course will give you a good impression of what mindfulness can do for your mind and body. You’ll learn that it is both a mental technique and a way of thinking that can have a transformative effect on your everyday life. Participants say that practising a day of mindfulness helps them understand and manage stress and negative thoughts, improves their concentration, and relaxes them completely.

The trainer is Demetrius J. Waarsenburg. In addition to his research and work as an organisational consultant, he is also an executive coach and mindfulness trainer. He combines mindfulness in the tradition of John Kabat-Zinn with techniques from Western cognitive psychology, such as neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).  His approach is straightforward, transparent, inspiring and results-driven.
