Guidelines for recommendation letter for participants of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

Nominations for participants of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings must include a curriculum vitae of the candidate and a letter of recommendation, both in English. On this page you will find some guidelines for writing a letter of recommendation.

In general

The letter should be written especially for the candidate by a person who knows the candidate well, e.g. supervisor of the Master or PhD thesis (not a standard letter).

Roughly one A4 page

The letter contains a description of the candidate’s achievements that could also cover details not found in the candidate´s curriculum vitae. A description of the nominating institution is not necessary.
