Academy Van Leersum Grant

The Academy Medical Sciences Fund makes the Academy Van Leersum Grants available to promising young researchers in neurology, radiology and pharmacology (including research into medicinal plants). Researchers at a Dutch institute can apply for a grant to cover a research project abroad or a working visit to a foreign institution.

The Academy Van Leersum Grant is named after P. van Leersum, who was a corresponding member of the Academy. His estate and that of Mrs I.G. Harbers-Kramer make up the Van Leersum Fund, which was established in 1922 and is part of the Academy Medical Sciences Fund.

What does the Fund cover?

The Fund covers research projects or working visits abroad that make an innovative contribution to neurological, radiological or pharmaceutical research in the Netherlands. The research project or working visit abroad must be for a minimum of one and a maximum of four consecutive months.

Subject to certain conditions, the fund will also cover travel expenses (round trip), accommodation abroad and a cost-of-living allowance.
