Cornelia van Duijn, Erasmus Medical Centre, has conducted trailblazing research in the field of genetic epidemiology. She combines genetic research in families with large-scale population studies. The aim is to identify the genes involved in complex neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Creutzfeldt-Jacob and glaucoma.
