CO2 reduction in the Dutch Climate Agreement

The Netherlands wants to reduce CO2 emissions by 49 percent by 2030. This is laid down in the Dutch Climate Agreement. How realistic is this objective and how can science and academia help?

The European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC), of which the Academy is an active member, regularly reports on the current state of knowledge regarding CO2 reduction.

At this symposium, EASAC experts will explain the possible contributions of transport, biomass and carbon capture. Ed Nijpels, chair of the Climate Council, will explain the Climate Agreement and participate in the panel discussion.
