The NARCIS science/scholarship portal has been renewed and improved.

24 March 2010

NARCIS is a portal operated by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). It provides access to information about scientists and scholars, the institutions where they work, and their publications.

The portal also provides access to full text publications by all the Dutch universities and a large number of research institutes, including those that fall within the remit of the Academy and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

The portal has already been in operation for a considerable time, but it has now been improved and more user-friendly, for one thing because of a better interface and search options. Various functions have also been added that make it easier to keep track of developments in specific disciplines. Focused searches within NARCIS have now become simpler, especially because the results can be restricted on the basis of various aspects. If you are looking for a publication or an expert in a particular field, you can now use NARCIS's clever technology and simple interface to access a list of researchers with the required expertise. Their personal pages will then provide contact details and information about their research, as well as their open access publications.
>Not only the interface and search options have been improved: you can now add the results of a search to your favourites and be kept up to date on the latest publications, datasets, and research in specific disciplines by an RSS-feed.
