Advances in research on social integration and cultural diversity: An interdisciplinary approach

In this colloquium, we will invite the speakers and audience to reflect on the possible added value in cultural diversity and on the relevant processes and conditions involved.

Thereby, we will also specify the viewpoints, concerns and needs of minority and majority members, respectively. Moreover, we will consider the perspectives of various disciplines, thereby focusing on four topics:

  • diversity and education (with a specific focus on bilingualism)
  • diversity and work,
  • diversity and social networks, more generally, and
  • implications of research findings for integration policies.
