Accessibility statement

The Academy aims to meet the accessibility requirements of DigiToegankelijk.nl at AA level. Complying with this standard makes our website more user-friendly and more accessible for different target groups.

This accessibility statement was drawn up on 25 February 2021 and applies to the content of the website www.knaw.nl and for the website of the Young Academy and the Society of Arts. The institutes that are part of the Academy each have their own accessibility statement (see list at the bottom of this page).

Approach to improving the accessibility of our website

We have taken the following measures to promote compliance with accessibility requirements:

  • Internal checks before publication: Our editorial staff check all content for accessibility before publication.
  • Periodic internal checks: Our editorial staff periodically carry out interim checks on the content.
  • Accessibility investigation: The accessibility of the www.knaw.nl website (both technically and for content) will be investigated by an external agency.

PDFs

We are working on making our PDF documents accessible. Since 23 September 2019, we have been offering access to new PDFs digitally as far as possible.
