A review of the code is currently under way and the committee is keen to engage with users. Subjects that will receive specific attention in that review are transparency about ancillary activities and external funding and independence. Two meetings will be held in November for scientists from universities, universities of applied science, academic hospitals and other research institutes.
If you are unable to attend the meetings, but would still like to share your experiences about the usefulness of the code, please e-mail to evaluatieNGWI@knaw.nl. Needless to say, the committee cannot deal with your personal case.
The Academy, Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU), Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), Associated Applied Research Institutes (TO2), Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences (VH), and the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) worked together to thoroughly amend and expand 'the Code' that has been in use since 2004.
