KNAW Grant week 2023: Impactful research, impactful you - Evaluation
The KNAW looks back on a successful sixth edition of the Grant Week, mainly thanks to the many impact workshops. After all, looking for ways to create impact is becoming increasingly important when writing a good research proposal. This annual event took place from 7 to 9 November at the KNAW Trippenhuis.
Researchers from all institutes were represented among the participants. The speakers came from the Young Academy, the Rathenau Institute, the Netherlands Brain Institute and the KNAW Humanities cluster. There were 110 registrations for the workshops over the three days with 54 unique participants. The Grant week as a whole was rated very well (8.8 out of 10). Some responses from participants:
• We received valuable tips on finding funding, writing proposals and assessment. I learned a lot about in-depth questions and conditions that the research format sets.
• I enjoyed learning how to present the impact of almost any project in a clear way. It was very exciting to pitch to fellow participants from other institutes, and it gave me insight into how to formulate my research proposal in such a way that it also appeals to other disciplines.
The importance of the Grant week is well expressed in an interview on the intranet (Portus) with a participant who was present all three days and talks about her experiences.
